Details: The Absinthe Spoon has played an important role in absinthe drinking since the beginning. Traditionally absinthe is prepared by pouring a single ounce of the absinthe in a glass and placing a perforated spoon over the rim of the glass with a sugar cube set on top. You would then pour ice water slowly over the sugar and let it drip down into the absinthe. This combination of sugar water and absinthe turns the mixture milky white and releases oils that perfume the air with fennel, grand wormwood and anise.
