Details: Chinotto Tassoni is a drink made with Sicilian chinottos, grown on the slopes of Mount Etna, in the province of Catania. The chinotto plant, Citrus myrtifolia, is a vegetal specie which produces these small citrus fruits. These are similar, to the well-known tangerine, in shape, measure, and colour.
Chinotto Tassoni is made with organic ingredients and Sicilian Chinottos from the enchanting Alcantara valley. Here, between the sea and the Mount Etna, citrus fruits grow with unique flavours.
How is the Chinotto Tassoni made?
Our Chinotto originates from two things. The first is an infusion obtained by steeping the chinotto fruits in alcohol. The second is the chinotto extract mixed with various spices, barks and bitter roots. Among the ingredients there is a small percentage of organic lemon juice. This, together with citric acid, gives Chinotto a balanced acidity.
The caramelised organic cane sugar gives the drink an amber dark brown colour, which is lighter than that of other common drinks. We use a basic caramel, produced without chemicals, which is more natural. Overall, the drink is extremely fragrant, with citrus and spicy scents of cloves and pepper. As for the taste, a moderate sweetness and acidity gradually give way to a slight but persistently bitter aftertaste.
Size: 4 x 180ml bottles.
